El Cortijo de los Caballos is a rare gem being one of the very few Cortijos left in the Marbella area and is situated in a quiet valley near to the picturesque white village of Benahavis and 10 minutes from Marbella and Puerto Banus, it is also just a 5 minute drive to the beautiful beaches of the Costa Del Sol.
Recently renovated but retaining all of its original charm the property resembles a tropical oasis with its numerous palm trees and flower beds, lawned terraces and romantic shaded courtyards. Its secluded location makes it possible to truly escape the crowds at this relaxing and tranquil retreat whilst still being able to enjoy the nightlife of Puerto Banus and Marbella.
Formerly an equestrian centre, this stunning Cortijo has since been sympathetically converted into a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom Cottage and 11 double Casitas with self catering facilities and private terraces or gardens. The Cortijo sleeps 28 adults in total and is perfect for large groups of friends or family who wish to holiday together but still retain some privacy.
El Cortijo de los Caballos has recently been renovated to a high standard and has an eclectic mix of Spanish and Moroccan décor which was chosen to suit the buildings traditional Moorish architecture. The Cortijo was sympathetically converted from an equestrian centre 30 years ago by its owners to include 11 double bedroom Casitas and a 3 bedroom Cottage.
It retains many features of the original stables and corral and is just full of charm and character. This large, rustic country property offers you a tranquil and private retreat with the added bonus of being just a couple of minutes from the beaches of theCosta Del Sol and only 10 minutes from the nightlife of Marbella.
The beauty of the property for weddings lies within the unique layout of the Cortijo as each of your guests will have their own suite or cottage for their private use. This enables a large group of friends or family to holiday together for the week whilst still retaining some privacy, with their own kitchen facilities, en suite bathrooms and terrace or garden. The Cortijo is suitable for weddings of up to 100 guests.
YOUR ACCOMMODATION
Pool Room – The Pool Suite is most suited to honeymooners with its light and airy romantic décor and its own large private garden with direct access to the swimming pool. The Pool room has a queen size bed with living/dining area and kitchenette. The bathroom is decorated with hand painted antique tiles and comes complete with a double sinks, bath and walk in shower. The private terrace has a table and chairs for breakfasting in private and also comes with sunloungers.
Tower Room – The Tower Room is a secret hideaway with beautiful Romeo and Juliet balconies and a private roof terrace. Romantically decorated with a queen size bed, built in breakfast tray and en suite shower room. The room also has breakfast facilities that include a fridge, toaster and kettle.
Stable Rooms – There are 4 Stable Rooms which are one bedroom studios with kitchenette, lounge and dining area and bedroom with Queen size bed and en suite with double sinks, baths and walk in shower. We have 2 double stable rooms and one twin stable room. Each room has its own private terrace for dining and sunbathing.
Corral Rooms – We have 3 Corral rooms which are 1 bedroom apartments. Each apartment is individual, with some being split level and some having private rear terraces as well as front ones. They come with a kitchen and lounge area, queen size beds and en suites with double sinks, baths and walk in showers.
Saddle Rooms – There are 2 Saddle Rooms which are our Junior Suites and they come with Queen size beds, breakfast facilities, dining area and en suite with double sinks, bath and walk in shower. They also have a terrace to the front for dining and sunbathing.
3 Bedroom Cottage – A large rustic style cottage with a double bedroom with ensuite shower room and dressing room and two ensuite twin bedrooms. Large open plan lounge, kithcen and dining room with pretty rear terrace and private garden.
The communal area consists of a lounge, kitchen, bar and large BBQ terrace with a traditional andalucian style BBQ as well as a large gas range. There is a television and media player which is perfect for the children whilst the adults enjoy a few drinks at the bar or outside on the terrace. There is a library area and WIFI access at no charge.
GROUNDS
There are extensive mature gardens with a large range of rare tropical plants and shrubs which have night time soft lighting. All rooms have direct access across the lawn to the large lagoon pool which has a beach area perfect for young children and pool bar with seating and adjacent shower. There is a jacuzzi within the grounds and ample sunbeds, tables, parasols etc are provided. Follow a path from the pool area and you will reach the beautiful, large and shaded dining terrace with its traditional andalucian BBQ and ample dining space. This terrace also has direct access to the communal lounge and indoor bar area.
